Lewinsky loses cool in New York restaurant
NEW YORK (Court TV) Former White House intern Monica Lewinsky let off some steam at an up-scale Manhattan restaurant, the Daily News reported today. She barked at other patrons, got up to leave, and then went back inside after spotting a photographer to yell at staff.
It all happened at Gino's, an Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side, where Lewinsky was having lunch with a woman believed to be her mother, Marcia Lewis. Lewinsky was talking on her cell phone when, witnesses said, the couple at the next table began laughing.
"Do you find this funny?" Lewinsky reportedly yelled at the pair.
"As a matter of fact, I do," one of them reportedly replied.
After the exchange, Lewinsky, who wore a baseball cap and dark sunglasses, tried to leave when she spotted a photographer at the door. She turned around, marched back inside and chewed out the staff, witnesses said.
"She came storming back in the restaurant," said Cindy Bulson, who was also dining at Gino's. "She brushed by me and said, 'Excuse me!' and headed straight toward the manager."
"She sounds normal, not like a little girl's voice," said Ginny Clarke, who works at a Manhattan law firm. "She has a mature voice, but not deep."
Ms. Lewinsky was also seen this week shopping at Bloomingdale's department store and dining at "21," another chic Manhattan restaurant.
