New Jersey Indictment
Here's the October 1, 1996 indictment of Theodore Kaczynski in connection with the
mail bombing death of Thomas Mosser, a New Jersey advertising executive, linked to the
Unabomber.
The Indictment
Here's the June 18, 1996 indictment of Theodore Kaczynski in connection with four of the bombing attacks linked to the Unabomber.
Affidavit of FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge
This April 3, 1996 affidavit by FBI agent Terry D. Turchie, which includes a description of evidence that led the government to suspect that Theodore John Kaczynski was the Unabomber, was submitted in support of the government's request for a warrant to search Kaczynski's Montana cabin.
Motion to End Prosecution
Theodore Kaczynski's lawyers moved to have their client's property returned and to permanently enjoin the government from proceeding to a grand jury for an indictment. They argued that a pattern of media leaks poisoned any possible jury their client might face. The defense noted that anonymous federal sources were cited in more than 2,000 new stories following Kaczynski's arrest. The April 15, 1996 motion was denied.
Arrest Warrant
This is the arrest warrant issued on April 4, 1996 for Theodore John Kaczynski. This document contains an affidavit from one of the federal agents who searched Kaczynski's one-room cabin and a list of potential evidence that was seized.
