Aggressive review of JonBenet Ramsey murder begins

Boulder, Colorado (AP) — They're pulling out all the stops in an effort to determine who killed JonBenet Ramsey.

According to the The Denver Post, Boulder County, Colorado District Attorney Mary Keenan is launching an aggressive review of the Ramsey case.

Six-year-old JonBenet was found strangled in her parents' basement in 1996.

An attorney for the Ramsey family says they're in favor of a fresh investigation -- as long as the review steers clear of the Boulder police department.

The Ramseys think the Boulder police botched the investigation.

They've also accused the police of character assassination.

The Ramseys have repeatedly said they weren't involved in the murder.
