On the eve of Timothy McVeigh's execution, Courttv.com senior producer Andy Brooks and senior editor Catherine Quayle take a trip from McVeigh's childhood home in upstate New York to Terre Haute, Indiana, where the Oklahoma City bomber is scheduled to die by lethal injection June 11, 2001. Andy and Catherine talk to people along the way -- at diners, truck stops, farms and stores -- about the deeds and death of an American terrorist.

The newly built Special Confinement Unit at the federal prison houses up to 21 death row prisoners, including McVeigh. The Oklahoma City bomber will be the first to die under the federal death penalty since 1963.

Timothy McVeigh, the son of Bill and Mildred "Mickey" McVeigh, grew up in a Buffalo suburb. The small town was a far cry from the rural life that the bomber would later come to idealize.
