KENT, Wash. (AP) — Divorce proceedings have begun for a former teacher who had two children with one of her students.

Mary Kay Letourneau is serving a seven-and-a-half-year sentence in Washington state for having sex with an under-age pupil. She's had two children with the boy.

Her estranged husband has custody of the four children Latourneau had with him. He filed the divorce petition that reached a courtroom this week.

The King County judge presiding in the case has closed the courtroom and sealed the court file. He's also told attorneys not to discuss the case.
