According to Valparaiso, Ind., police, Johnathan Ring's serial showering habits came to an end after he allegedly made himself at home in someone else's apartment.
On Sept. 18, officers responded to a call about an "unwanted male" at a man's apartment, according to the police report.
When they arrived, they met with the homeowner, Kevin Williams, who said Ring, 20, was inside taking a shower.
According to Williams, his son, Casey Williams, called him and said that Ring had knocked on the door and asked for his brother. The brother wasn't home, and Ring asked if he could come in, since police were looking for him.
But "Casey ignored Ring's requests and went upstairs to bed," the report said. "Ring then forced his way inside through a dead-bolt ... and started taking a shower."
When police walked in, Ring "was sitting there on the couch," according to Sgt. Mike Grennes of the Valparaiso Police Department.
He was arrested and charged with residential entry and criminal mischief.
But this apparently wasn't the first time Ring felt the need to lather up.
It turned out police were looking for him to question him about another illicit shower.
A week earlier, on Sept. 12, Valparaiso resident Michelle Burden called police and reported a break-in.
She said Ring, who claimed he was friends with Burden's son, knocked on her door and asked to come in. Burden refused and left for work. When she returned home for lunch, she found that someone had broken into her apartment.
Ring allegedly "made something to eat, took a shower, made some phone calls and left," Grennes said.
Ring was, in fact, acquainted with people at both homes, according to Grennes, who also said that Ring appears to be homeless.
"He calls these people friends of his. Whether they are, we don't know. They are acquaintances," he said.
