During break in trial, Jayson Williams welcomes his second daughter
Williams' wife, attorney Tanya Young Williams, delivered a girl Tuesday night.

SOMERVILLE, N.J. — The wife of Jayson Williams, the former NBA star currently on trial for manslaughter, has given birth to a daughter.

Tanya Young Williams delivered a 7-pound, 4-ounce girl named Whizdom late Tuesday night at an Englewood, N.J., hospital.

The couple have a 16-month-old daughter, Tryumph.

Williams, 36, faces 55 years in prison if convicted of aggravated manslaughter and seven other charges in connection with the shooting of chauffeur Costas "Gus" Christofi.

The trial in Somerset County Superior Court has not been in session since Monday because of a death in the lead prosecutor's family.

When court resumes Thursday morning, Judge Edward Coleman is expected to announce a decision on a defense request to dismiss all charges in the case. Because of his daughter's birth, Williams is not expected in court Thursday.

Tanya Williams, an attorney, has been a constant presence at her husband's trial. Almost every day of the two-month proceeding, she sat directly behind the one-time All-Star, frequently taking notes on testimony.

She also created a Web site, myjaysonwilliams.com, to chronicle her interpretation of the trial.
