Dan Briner and his wife Marjorie took in Gabriel Polk after his father's killing and mother's arrest. Briner wrote this letter to Susan Polk to provide her an update about her son, but Polk responded with a request that they cease doing so because it was "too painful for me to look at what I am missing."
