Tommy Lee spent four months in jail for the 1998 assault of his then-wife, Pamela Anderson. As part of his probation, a judge sentenced him to 450 hours of community service. Five years later, he has completed less than half that time. He appeared in Judge Lawrence Mira's Malibu courtroom April 10 to ask the judge to give him credit for activities that fall outside of traditional community service. Among them are attendance at two VH1 charity benefits for the Save the Music Foundation and a visit to sailors stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Deputy District Attorney Kathryn Solorzano cast a suspicious eye on Lee's plan, telling the rocker and his lawyer that she wanted more details on what he actually did while visiting the naval base. Of the music channel events, for which Lee is seeking credit for 48 hours over six days, she said outside the court, "My position is it doesn't count." Lee and his lawyer are due back in court in May with hourly breakdowns of his time with the troops and at the VH1 event.
