DOCUMENTS IN THE UNABOMBER CASE
Official documents and papers from the investigation, arrest and trial of Theodore Kaczynski.
Unabomber Psychological Report

Dr. Sally C. Johnson's psychological report describes Theodore Kaczynski, the confessed Unabomber, as a man whose early brilliance was ruined by paranoid schizophrenia.

Prosecution's Sentencing Memo
Government prosecutors used this April 28, 1998 filing as a chance to summarize convicted Unabomber Ted Kaczynski's actions once more and to argue that Kaczynski was a cold-blooded, amoral killer who consciously and logically dispatched his victims without remorse.
Ex Parte Hearings Between Defense and Judge Burrell:
Dec 18, Dec 19, Dec 22

These three meetings — much of which were redacted at the defense's request due to attorney-client privilege — cover issues of letters Kaczynski wrote to the judge discussing problems he had with his counsel. It also covers the issue of a local reporter, Christina Craft, who had attempted to interview Kaczynski at Kaczynski's request, but was refused by marshals.

Affidavit of FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge
This April 3, 1996 affidavit by FBI agent Terry D. Turchie, which includes a description of evidence that led the government to suspect that Theodore John Kaczynski was the Unabomber, was submitted in support of the government's request for a warrant to search Kaczynski's Montana cabin.
Motion to End Prosecution
Theodore Kaczynski's lawyers moved to have their client's property returned and to permanently enjoin the government from proceeding to a grand jury for an indictment. They argued that a pattern of media leaks poisoned any possible jury their client might face. The defense noted that anonymous federal sources were cited in more than 2,000 new stories following Kaczynski's arrest. The April 15, 1996 motion was denied.
Arrest Warrant
This is the arrest warrant issued on April 4, 1996 for Theodore John Kaczynski. This document contains an affidavit from one of the federal agents who searched Kaczynski's one-room cabin and a list of potential evidence that was seized.
