Instead of a trophy, an allegedly intoxicated, half-naked man's horseplay got him some jail time, according to the Kentucky State Police.
On Oct. 1, Hopkins County officers received a complaint of a disturbance, described as "a shirtless man in the area attempting to provoke a fight with neighbors and passers-by," according to Trooper Stu Recke.
When they arrived, "they saw a subject atop a horse in the middle of the roadway," Recke said.
Officers approached the man, 24-year-old David Gibson of White Plains, Ky., and attempted to speak to him.
But Gibson "took the horse to a full sprint" and fled, according to Recke, who said he believes the horse belonged to Gibson.
Approximately a mile and a half later, the chase ended when Gibson attempted to jump a creek. The horse made a "haphazard" attempt to make the jump, Recke said, but Gibson fell off.
"Probably [the horse] thought, 'Yeah, this isn't worth it,'" Recke said.
Gibson was taken into custody and treated at a medical center. He has been charged with fleeing police, operating a non-motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants, and disorderly conduct.
Luckily, the "non-motor vehicle" is fine: "The horse wasn't injured," Recke said.
