95-year-old Bruce Brown was last seen in April 2023, according to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office. An investigation determined his daughter, Gennice Walker, was living off Brown’s social security and VA benefits in Kansas City.

Walker reportedly refused to cooperate with investigators and was arrested in Kansas City. Authorities then served a search warrant in Nevada that led to the discovery of Brown’s remains in a homemade coffin in a residential backyard.

Authorities said Walker is being held in Kansas City on charges of larceny and obstructing a police officer.

Walker will be extradited to Nye County.
