Lazaro Pozo Illas is facing life in prison for the death of 45-year-old Christopher Schulz. Prosecutors say the defendant was drunk and speeding when he drove through a golf cart crosswalk, striking Schulz and his passenger Brian Hovekamp, who was seriously injured in the incident. The defense has challenged expert testimony in relation to the defendant's BAC, and whether the victims had the duty to yield the right of way to the defendant.
