TN v. HINDS (2021)
Janet Hinds is charged with vehicular homicide in the 2019 death of Chattanooga police officer Nicholas Galinger. The rookie officer was checking an overflowing manhole cover in the rain when he was struck by an intoxicated Hinds. Galinger later died from his injuries. Surveillance video from a restaurant shows Hinds at the establishment for more than three hours, consuming five alcoholic beverages before she left in her vehicle.
