BATON ROUGE (Court TV) — A Baton Rouge man has been charged in the improper disposing of Georgia’s man remains after he died on a business trip.

Derrick Perkins, 45, is facing multiple charges in the death investigation of Nathan Millard, including unlawful disposal of remains and obstruction of justice, according to Baton Rouge police.
Perkins was previously wanted for questioning in the case. He was arrested on March 15, nearly three weeks after Millard was last seen alive. Perkins’ initial charges included probation violation, criminal damage to property, three counts of access device fraud and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The 42-year-old father was last seen in downtown Baton Rouge on Feb. 23. His body was found wrapped in a rug on March 6. Police have said no foul play is suspect. A coroner’s report indicted there was “no internal or external trauma” and Millard’s family was reportedly told “he likely died of an accidental overdose,” reported WAFB.
