FL v. RAJA (2019)
Former Palm Beach Gardens police officer Nouman Raja is accused of fatally shooting Corey Jones in 2015. Raja encountered Jones on I-95 after the musician's SUV broke down on the way home from playing a show. Prosecutors claim a plainclothes Raja approached Jones in an unmarked van and never identified himself as an officer before firing six times, hitting Jones three times. Raja said he fired in self-defense after Jones pulled a gun on him. His account was brought into question when investigators obtained Jones' cellphone recording of the incident.
