Prosecutor: 6-year-old shoots & kills 3-year-old, father left loaded gun ‘easily accessible’

CINCINNATI (Scripps News Cincinnati) — A Cincinnati man who left a loaded gun accessible to his young children, leading to his 6-year-old shooting and killing his 3-year-old last month, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and endangering children.

Deangelo Davis, 37, was arrested after his 3-year-old was shot and killed on October 23. Once on scene, Cincinnati police found the 3-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound.

The child was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

According to court documents, Davis left his loaded gun in an “easily accessible” location for his 3-year-old and 6-year-old children. The 3-year-old boy died by “means of a gunshot” from that gun, according to court documents.
