In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the singer said he had an “incident” with Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

“Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Emotions got the best of me and I was out of line in the things I said. I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated in the moment, it was unlike me and I apologize. They brought me to jail, and there is a mug shot of me floating around. Prayers we can all move on from this and prayers people know I’m just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers.”

Bryan also took to Instagram and X to explain his side. He said three days prior to his arrest he was driving through a small town in Oklahoma and was pulled over for speeding. When he refused to give the officer his address because of privacy concerns, the officer said he’d have to take him to jail for refusing. The situation was ultimately diffused and Bryan went on his way with a warning.

Bryan claimed on the night of his arrest, he and his security guard were driving in separate vehicles from Vinita, Oklahoma to Boston when his security guard was pulled over in a traffic stop. Bryan said he then circled around and parked his vehicle by them to wait. After a few minutes, Bryan said he exited his vehicle to see what was taking so long, and the officer told him to get back in his vehicle or he’d “take him to jail.” Bryan admitted that he got “lippy” with the officer and was being “disrespectful,” which led to his arrest.

Bryan was booked into the Craig County Jail and bonded out shortly after. He said he also apologized to the officer at the jail.

Bryan exploded onto the country music scene in April 2022 with his hit song “Something in the Orange.” His self-titled album, which was released on August 25, landed in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard chart.
