Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter for the death of George Floyd. Three other officers facing charges will be tried separately.
Floyd, 46, was arrested for allegedly using a counterfeit $20 bill at a grocery store. Cell phone video capturing Chauvin pressing his knee into Floyd’s neck sparked a national movement around the world, making his words, “I Can’t Breathe” a part of U.S. history.
