Daniel Stearns was convicted on charges he murdered his girlfriend, Nancy Howery, and buried her only to dig her up later, set her body on fire and scatter her remains in multiple spots. Stearns was found guilty of second-degree murder with a firearm, abuse of a dead human body, and tampering with evidence in the killing of Howery, who disappeared on Feb. 15, 2023.
