GA v. DORSEY (2002)

Former DeKalb County Sheriff Sidney Dorsey is accused of masterminding the murder of Derwin Brown, a veteran police officer who defeated Dorsey in a runoff election in August 2000. Brown was returning home from a pre-Christmas party on Dec. 15, 2000, when he was hit by a dozen bullets and later died. The attack came three days before he was to assume office. Dorsey is also charged with racketeering, theft and violation of oath of office.
