TX v. BAKER (2010)

Former minister Matt Baker is charged with the April 2006 death of his wife, 31-year-old Kari Baker. Her death was initially ruled a suicide, but after prodding and private investigation by Kari’s parents, the case was reopened and Matt was indicted in March 2009. Authorities say Baker gave his wife drugs, and then suffocated her with a pillow to make it look like a sleeping pill overdose. He claims Kari was depressed over the death of their child in 1998.
