Three white police officers are accused of beating a biracial man during a party of off-duty cops in October 2004. The incident occurred went Frank Jude Jr. arrived at the party with a black friend and two white women. Witnesses say the defendants accused the group of stealing a police badge, then attacked Jude, removing his pants, and sticking a pen in his ears as they hurled racial slurs. No badge was found. The defense argues the key witnesses at the party are unreliable.
