Court TV has been in Iowa this week, covering the murder trial of Christhian Bahena Rivera, the man accused of murdering University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts. Court TV’s Michael Ayala joins host Vinnie Politian to discuss some of the key testimony so far, including testimony from the police detective who initially interrogated Rivera and managed to get him to not only confess to the murder, but to lead authorities to Mollie’s body.
The defense saw her testimony as an opportunity to show Rivera was coerced into confessing. Will the jury believe that? Will the defense also be able to convince the jury that other potential suspects should have been investigated more thoroughly?
