Phillip Farren, 52, admitted he shot and killed his wife, 34-year-old Amber Farren, earlier in the week and had begun the process of cutting up her body when police arrived for a welfare check, according to authorities.

Two days before the wellness check, troopers had been called to the Farrens’ home on a domestic dispute report. A neighbor captured video they say shows Amber on the porch asking police for help and another neighbor asking cops to intervene.

Police said they talked to Amber and she drove away safely. But Amber’s sister, Ashley Ryan, says she was far from safe. She told Court TV,  “Shortly after that my sister went to talk to the cops again and she said I’m scared for my life, this guy has a gun.”

Philip Farren is charged with Murder in the Second-Degree and Manslaughter in the First-Degree.

Farren was arraigned via Skype. He is being held at the Allegany County Jail with no bail, WKBW reports.

GOFUNDME page has been set up to help the victim’s family pay for funeral expenses.
