FREMONT COUNTY, Idaho (Court TV) — New documents filed in the Doomsday Couple case reveal Chad Daybell wants prosecutors disqualified from his case, but he doesn’t want the public to see the details.

Chad Daybell’s defense asked the 7th Judicial District Court in Idaho to seal their motions, one of which is aimed at ousting prosecuting attorney Rob Wood.

The filings are coming ahead of a hearing scheduled for Friday, March 18.

Daybell and his wife, Lori Vallow Daybell, face murder charges in the death of her two children; 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan.  Daybell is also charged with first-degree murder in the death of his first wife, Tammy Daybell.

His trial date is set for January 2023. He’s also facing the death penalty. Vallow Daybell has not yet been deemed competent to stand trial. District Judge Steven Boyce ruled her unfit for trial in 2021.
