MIAMI (Court TV) — Attorneys for an OnlyFans model charged with killing her boyfriend in their Miami apartment announced they had reached a plea agreement with prosecutors just weeks ahead of the trial’s scheduled start.

Courtney Clenney, 30, was an OnlyFans model when she was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death of Christian Obumseli, 27. Obumseli was stabbed in the couple’s apartment; Clenney never denied that she was responsible for the victim’s injuries, but had maintained that she was acting in self-defense.
On Friday afternoon, Clenney’s attorney, Sabrina Puglisi, told Court TV that she had reached an agreement with prosecutors to resolve the charges without a trial. While Puglisi could only confirm the existence of an agreement, she said she could not reveal any specifics until the judge approves the proposed deal.
Because the case is still listed as “open,” the State Attorney’s Office declined to comment.
In interviews with police, Clenney allegedly acknowledged killing Obumseli, but said that she had acted in self-defense after her boyfriend pushed her and threw her to the floor. Clenney said that she grabbed a knife and threw it at Obumseli from approximately 10 feet away before it hit him in the chest.
In multiple court filings, Clenney maintained that she was the victim of ongoing abuse at Obumseli’s hands. Video clips of the couple taken before Obumseli’s death depict a tumultuous relationship marked by violence.
Obumseli’s family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit accusing Clenney of being the aggressor in the relationship; the lawsuit also accuses the owner of the condominium where the couple lived of negligence in failing to act to stop the violence.
Puglisi said both Clenney’s and Obumseli’s families are expected to be in court on Aug. 10 when the defendant changes her plea. Sentencing is expected to occur immediately after she pleads guilty.
