ORIGINAL STORY

Chad Daybell is expected to enter a plea during his arraignment Friday.

The hearing comes two weeks after a judge ruled there is probable cause for a criminal trial. Daybell is facing two felony counts of destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence after the remains of his wife’s two children were found on his Rexburg, Idaho, property.

Prosecutors claim Daybell, 52, buried the bodies of Lori Vallow Daybell’s two children; 17-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow. Authorities had been searching for the children since November 2019. Their remains were discovered back in June after cellular data from Vallow’s brother, Alex Cox, led them to points of interest on Daybell’s property. JJ’s remains were found buried in a plastic bag, while Tylee’s remains had been dismembered, burned and buried. Daybell was arrested that day, while Vallow Daybell was already in custody on charges related to the children’s disappearance.
