Simpson Civil Trial Coverage

Court TV reporter Dan Abrams will be inside the courtroom during the entire trial and will provide live reports for "Families v. Simpson," a special report airing on Prime Time Justice from 8:30pm - 9pm ET and PT. The nightly special report will include live reports from Abrams, exclusive analysis by host Terry Moran and expert guest commentators, and background reports and profiles of the key participants in the trial. Abrams also will provide live updates throughout the day in addition to reports on Justice Today (weekdays at 1pm ET), The Court TV Evening News (weeknights at 7:30pm ET and 10:30pm PT) and the network's syndicated show, Inside America's Courts.

The family of the late Ronald Goldman and the estate of Nicole Brown Simpson have brought a civil lawsuit against O.J. Simpson for the murders of Goldman and Brown. Unlike the criminal case, the plaintiffs in the civil suit need only to prove that Simpson is guilty based on a preponderance of evidence, rather than proof beyond a reasonable doubt. A civil case requires that only nine of the twelve jurors agree upon a verdict. In August, Judge Hiroshi Fujisaki, Superior Court judge in Santa Monica who is presiding over the trial, banned television cameras and still photographers from the trial and upheld a gag order banning trial participants from discussing the case in the media or in public.

"Despite the restrictions placed on the media and participants in this trial, we plan to provide comprehensive coverage," said Court TV Founder and CEO Steven Brill. "Dan Abrams, our reporter who also covered the criminal trial, will provide live first-hand reports throughout the day on Court TV and on the syndicated show. Viewers looking for the most accurate and thorough information about this trial will know to watch Court TV, specifically the nightly 'Families v. Simpson' special report."

In addition, the Court TV Law Center, the network's online service, will provide in-depth reporting on the trial by on-site reporter Robert Schmidt. The Law Center plans to post court documents online and provide trial updates, discussion groups and chats.
