The Blood And The Cuts
SANTA MONICA, Nov. 25 (11:10 A.M. COURT BREAK) -- O.J. Simpson, on the stand for the second day in his civil trial, is answering questions about blood found at his house and how he cut his hand the night of the murders.

Simpson said he does not remember how he received the cuts, just that he saw spots of blood on his pinky finger and near his kitchen sink.

"I assumed, because I saw blood on my pinky, I assumed that I cut my hand," Simpson said.

"You have no idea how blood got on you that night, is that what you're saying?" Petrocelli asked.

"Yes," Simpson replied.

Petrocelli also sharply questioned Simpson about the bag he took to the airport, which Kato Kaelin and Allan Park testified that Simpson would not let them touch. Simpson has identified a blue duffel bag as that bag. He said he put it into his golf bag when he reached the airport.

"You're sure that this bag wasn't acquired by someone after the fact to substitute for another bag that has never been seen?" Petrocelli asked.

"I would think not . . . I wouldn't know anyone who would do that." Simpson said.

"Even if they were on trial for their life?" Petrocelli asked, although the judge sustained an objection to the question.

"I noticed a little hesitation in your voice, are you sure that's the bag?" Petrocelli asked.

"It looks like the bag," Simpson replied.

Petrocelli's questioning has at times been so hostile that Simpson's defense attorney Robert Baker objected and asked Judge Hiroshi Fujisaki to require Petrocelli to move back and stop pointing his finger at Simpson.

"Overruled," Judge Fujisaki said. "You've done the same thing with other witnesses, Mr. Baker."
