US Supreme Court reaffirms that McGirt is not retroactive

U.S. Supreme Court reaffirmed that ruling to limit state jurisdiction for crimes committed on tribal reservations by or against tribal citizens is not retroactive. The ruling rejected appeals by seven Oklahoma death row inmates and came more than a month after the court rejected a similar claim by another death row inmate. The court also again rejected a request that Oklahoma overturn the McGirt decision. More
