Elizabeth Smart, a gregarious 14-year-old middle school student,
spent the evening of June 4, 2002, with her family at a school
function where she received awards for academics and physical
fitness.
Elizabeth was scheduled to play the harp that night, but
arrived late and was unable to perform.
