When someone broke into the home of John and Susan Sutton, shooting Susan to death and blinding John with a head wound, the police had a few good suspects. There was a client who was dissatisfied with the legal settlement John had secured for her and had threatened violence. Additionally, there was the matter of John’s law partner having an affair with Susan. However, in the end, neither was found to be responsible.
