Been caught stealing

Despite the endorsement on her back and her rear-end, the woman before the judge likely does not belong to the U.S. Polo Association.

The sweat suit doubles as pajamas — at least it did in jail last night — and the grime is apparent from the far reaches of the room.

One should not be fooled by her tiny frame. She stands just about five feet tall and cannot weigh more than 100 pounds. However, she apparently possesses lofty goals.

During her brief visit to Duane Reade — only about 15 minutes, according to police — she managed to pocket 100 items valued at $900.

The polo sweat suit has no pockets, and the outfit's tight cut could have hidden perhaps 100 bobby pins, but little else. It really is no mystery that she now finds herself incarcerated.

More than the shoplifting charges, the lawyers focus on her violation of a previously issued no-trespassing order.

The polo fan and Duane Reade share a history. Her lawyer argues, however, that her previous brush with the drug-store chain occurred at a location across town, not this particular store.

Unconvinced, the judge doles out some tough medicine: $5,000 cash or bond.
