Where the trail of panties ended, police found Jason Michael Cieminski, 24, hiding out on a porch, only houses away from the home he allegedly burglarized.
The Winona Police Department answered a call at around midnight on July 18 from a woman who had fled to her grandparents' home after being awakened by suspicious noises, then found a window screen open and the lights on downstairs.
When police entered the home, they told Cieminski to stop and turn himself in. But instead, he bolted for the back door.
Grabbing as many bras, panties and swimsuit tops as he could, Cieminski stuffed his stolen valuables down his pants and hopped on his bicycle.
As he fled the scene, he pulled undergarments from his pants and threw them at the officers.
Cieminski was charged with burglary, fleeing police and violating probation. Police recovered nine bras, eight panties and two swimsuit tops, according to the Winona Daily News.
A Winona Police Department spokesperson did not return calls for comment.
